My wife Jen and I live in Yorktown, VA with our five children; Kyle, Parker, Eli, Kaelin, and Ty. As you can imagine life is always pretty crazy at our house!

In October of 2004, I had the privilege of joining along side 26 other people to start Freedom Life and have been here ever since.  My energy is primarily spent focusing on the Vision of our church and coordinating our Preaching Team.

In addition to serving at FLC I also have the privilege of serving the Kingdom of God as a local representative of Christ Together, which is a national movement of churches working together.  Additionally, I and am currently serving a three year term on the Courageous Churches Team of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.

When I am not at church or the office, I am probably hanging with my family, at the gym, watching TV, or playing some kind of sport. I love playing/watching/talking about football. Go Houston Texans!!!!

Random Facts: I have never broken a bone in my body, I currently have four tattoos (but can’t wait to get more), nothing annoys me more than the sound of people chewing food, and I am afraid of birds.

I married my High School Sweetheart. My wife, Kim, and I live in Newport News, VA (for now). We have two boys, Caden who is 6 and Micah who is 1.

My ministry career began in 1999 in the Master Commission program at Warwick Assembly of God in Hampton, Va. I earned my license to preach with the Assemblies of God and went on to be the full-time youth pastor at Faith Fellowship Church in Toano, Va. In 2005, after serving five and a half years at Faith Fellowship, God called Kim and I to step out in faith and begin serving at Freedom Life Church. I was hired as an Associate Pastor/Teaching Pastor in November of 2006.

In June 2012, God called Kim and I to take another step of faith and begin preparing a team of people to launch a 2nd campus of Freedom Life Church in…San Antonio, Texas! Our family will be moving to San Antonio in March of 2013 to get the ball rolling! We are EXCITED!!

In my down time I enjoy hanging out with my beautiful wife and playing with our sons!! I love anything martial arts related…especially the UFC! I have earned a 2nd degree black belt in Chutoku Ryu and a 1st degree black belt in Goshin Jutsu through Savior Martial Arts out of Va. Beach, VA. I enjoy lifting weights and hit the gym at least 4-5 days a week.

Random Facts: I think Chinese food is the best food in the world. I am the only person I know who has knocked himself out punching a piece of wood. My favorite movie of all time is The Karate Kid! I have been serving in ministry with Pastor Freddy in some form or fashion for the last 12 years!

In 1996 I started the best journey of my life! I got married to Tracy Crews on the tail end of college in Abilene, TX were I got my degree in theology. It is through her relationships that we were impressed to pack up six months later and move to Virginia to help plant Hope Community Church, which in time planted Freedom Life Church.

Over the years, I served full-time as both executive pastor and lead pastor of Hope, as well as spent several seasons in the field working with Sturdevant Construction. I’m also pursuing a Master of Divinity degree and hope my family survives that journey.

Between 1996 and now we have had seven children: Emma, Ethan, Gage, Sophie, Luke, Myla, and Ruby. Tracy and I are learning to work and serve together through all the interesting seasons of our family and career. Our home is full of excitement, laughter and challenge. Each one of our children love people and are extroverted. If we could only get our own TV show, it would be on!

We came on staff with FLC February 1, 2013 as the campus pastor. Now, our journey will lead us back to TX were we will be helping to start FLC San Antonio with Pastor Chris.

Random Facts: I taught Pastor Freddy in a DISCIPLE NOW weekend when he was in high school. I have no personal “bubble” when it comes to communicating so you might need to ask me to back up a bit, lol. My favorite movie is Gladiator. I served as a Marine. My favorite food is “all you can eat.” I sometimes threaten my kids that I will act “normal” when they pretend not to like how goofy we are as a family, then they scream “NO” and straighten up (I guess they prefer “weird”). I don’t know what that communicates about us as a family but we are good with it :) .

My wife Quinetta joins me in the reality show of our life. We co-star in this production with our daughter Yulnique. That’s not all; we have adopted dozens of kids (they’re really college age lol) that make weekly cameos in our home but mostly in my refrigerator.

Together we’ve been in ministry for over 12 years. We started in the wilds of youth ministry as Youth Pastors. For several of those years I doubled as Worship Pastor as well. After many successful years in Student ministry (and begging God to cut a deal) I was FREED….uhm, I mean I now focus on being Worship & Arts Pastor here at Freedom Life Church. As you can see I love to joke. I bring this good natured approach to my whole life. I still have a passion for equipping this generation, but I simply love introducing people to God’s love via the arts.

I am a former student of Berklee College of Music and my wife is a proud graduate of Liberty University. When not on the church campus you can easily find me doing live theater or working various projects in the studio. And if you look close enough you will see me bustin a move that you will soon wish to forget. We are 100% committed to the arts and the conservation of it.

Random Facts: I love WRESTLING or “Rasslin” for you diehards…..not just WWE, but any wrestling promotion. I know, sounds a little weird but it’s our life and we LOVE it. Along with Chris, I love Chinese food and I agree with Freddy…CHEW SILENTLY.

Children's Ministry Director Freedom Life ChurchFLC Staff

My husband Mike and I live in Hampton with our two children, Dakota and Emmie. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007 where I majored in Developmental Psychology and English. I also received my teaching certificate that same year and spent 3 years as an English and Psychology teacher at high schools in Michigan and California before being called into ministry. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids of all ages, especially in a teacher/trainer role, and when we moved to Hampton in January of 2010 I was looking forward to being able to volunteer with CHAMPS. After taking some time off from teaching to stay home with my son, and seeking God’s direction for this period of my life, I was so excited to be presented with the opportunity to step into FLC’s children’s ministry full time! I look forward to being part of all God is doing here and I consider it a blessing to get to spend my time “working” with the children of Freedom Life! A few of my favorite things are… Traveling, lazy days at the beach, movie nights with my best friend and love of my life (aka Mike!), pedicures, jogging with my kids, cooking, Reece’s peanut butter cups, reading, game nights with friends, and getting to know new people… The greatest gifts God has blessed me with are my husband who encourages me, my friends that challenge me, my son who makes me laugh, and my daughter whose smile brightens my day! Random Facts: I think Top Gun is the greatest movie ever made. Ever! I am addicted to exclamation points and frequently overuse them. (!!!) I love body art. I have 4 tattoos and look forward to getting more. I’ve traveled to 3 different continents and have made it a goal to visit the other 4. It REALLY bothers me when the pens get mixed into the pencil jar. I love Mexican food-thus the 3 years Mike and I spent in SoCal were the best!

My husband Josh and I enjoy going to concerts, traveling, and going to annual local events like Bay Days and the Seafood Festivals.  We love to hang with just the two of us, with our amazing friends, and our families.

I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Business Administration specializing in Management from St. Leo University in 2008. I worked at NASA Langley Research Center in the management field for over 10 years before I was given this amazing opportunity at Freedom Life Church.  I have to share that I have never been shown a clearer message from God than the message to pursue this opportunity. I give all the glory to our Father for this blessing! If you ever want to know more, feel free to come chat.

Random Facts: a few Bucket List items we have checked off our list: Skydiving, Scuba diving, White Water Rafting, a trip to Cancun, Las Vegas vacation with a bunch of friends, New York City on New Years Eve, we got married on the beach of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. We dig being spontaneous and adventurous! One last thing…I love Chinese food!!!

Financial Coordinator Freedom Life ChurchFLC Staff

I moved to Hampton from Chincoteague Island in May of 2009 with my two daughters, Brenna and Savanah. When I finally found Freedom Life, God’s love was so evident and the teaching so relevant that I was hooked and the people of FLC have truly become a part of my already-wonderful family.
Anytime I’m not at church or the office, I’m probably spending time with my family.  We love being together, laughing, traveling, or whatever comes up. I grew up in a Christian military family, and we are all very close. They are my backbone!
God has done such an amazing work in my life over the past year that I can’t even begin to tell it all in a few paragraphs, except to say that he has been my comforter, my provider, my peace, and my best friend.  He has brought me to new levels of closeness with Him and to a place of surrender within His will. I am so excited for the opportunity I have been given to work with such a wonderful group of people to help further His church!
Random facts: I love to cook but I don’t like to bake.  I am a Diet-Coke-aholic.  I love scrubbing tubs, floors, anything.  I’m a night owl and hate going to bed, but I hate getting up even more!!  I am generally an open book, once I get past my crazy shyness.  In my opinion, OBX is 2nd only to Heaven.  I would love to start a soup kitchen someday (just as long as I cook and don’t have to bake)!
