Our apprenticeship and internship programs are designed to train and prepare people for ministry. The apprentice program focuses on preparing those called to vocational ministry while our internship program is designed to help develop people called to volunteer ministry. These are our current apprentices and interns.

"Common" aka Jacory Wills
Youth Pastor Freedom Life ChurchFLC Apprentice I was born and raised in Hampton VA, and graduated from Phoebus High (go phantoms). I have received my AS degree form TNCC, and am currently a student at Bethel College. Having previously served in youth ministry for five years, I have a huge heart for my generation and love seeing them on fire for Christ! I believe the youth that I’m working with have the ability to change the nation. Also, I’m a musician who loves playing drums & keyboard (I’m the kid who always got in trouble growing up for beating on pots and pans or anything I could find… and I guess I still do). I was first invited to Freedom Life by Pastor Courtney. My first thought when he told me about it was, “I can drink my coffee in the sanctuary and chew gum!” Freedom Life had my attention from that moment on. The first message I heard here was called “All In,” which played off Texas Hold’em Poker, and was followed by a poker night at church (WHAT! Who does poker in church…I love it!). Over the following months, I developed a relationship with Pastor Freddy & Pastor Chris and the rest is HIStory. RANDOMS: Cowboy fan, love UFC, I’m a Ninja in real life, I’m afraid of heights but love riding roller-coaster, I love trying food I’ve never had before. When I get my first dog I want to name him Capo. Express is my favorite store. Updated 190 days ago

"Wonder Woman" aka Lisa Hoeckel
Worship Arts Pastor Freedom Life ChurchFLC Apprentice I’ve been married to the greatest man on the planet for over 17 years. I have 4 fantastic biological children and and whole bunch of other kids that I claim as my own! It’s funny, a common question I get is, “How many of those are ACTUALLY yours?” My answer is ALL OF THEM! I found out about FLC by way of Pastor Chris’ karate class back in 2006. The first sermon I dragged my family to was titled Heart of Worship. Man, that was made for me! My family and I have been hooked ever since. I love how this church is so real. The message meets you right where you live and breathe. The people who attend are always ready to lift each other up. FLC is one (really big) awesome family and I’m blessed to be considered part of it. I have been interning and now apprenticing around two years. On Wednesdays, you’ll catch me with the Ignite youth setting the night on fire…theoretically Haha. I am blessed to get to worship with the most talented group of youth and young adults around. I cannot say enough about the amazing gifts God has given them. I can also be seen singing on the stage or running doing media stuff on the weekends. I want the masses to know that worship is more than music, more than clapping or raising your hands at a service. Worship is a lifestyle that puts praising and thanking God in ALL ASPECTS of our lives. I think that no matter your age, gender, background, life situation, you have a way to praise God. I believe God has led me to this church to teach this. Some things you may not know about me are that I love adventure, the more spontaneous, the better. I absolutely adore “Superhero” and scifi movies. Though at one point in my life I flew planes, heights make me nervous! |
